Power Systems Engineer II

Job description

Overview We are designing the grid of the future! Conduct power system studies and analysis for meeting regulatory compliance requirements of existing and future NERC and regional reliability standards. This position will have specific emphasis placed on generating facilities’ planning, modeling, operation and protection system analysis. Responsibilities: How you can make an impact: - Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, TSAT, ETAP, etc. - Conduct IBR modeling: steady state, short circuit, and dynamic in PSSE - Conduct IBR operational capability analysis: voltage/frequency ride-through assessment using PSCAD. - Perform assessments for compliance with NERC operation and planning reliability standards. - Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed. - Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives. - Process, generate and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies. - Identify training needs and present to the management as needed. - Perform other assigned duties in relation to client services and deliverabl...
