Student Stage Manager

Description Position Objective: Working under the supervision of the Production Manager and Technical Director, the Stage Manager will work in a variety of areas including stage, sound, lighting and video. Stage Manager will lead and participate in setups, strikes, rehearsals, and show shifts for specific events. They will serve as the communication manager, when needed, between the client and the MPAC student staff. They will lead show shifts with duties that include, unlocking the building, ensuring stage is properly set up, handling any last minute client requests during rehearsals, ensuring the MPAC team stays on schedule, coordinating the house opening and show beginning, overseeing a smooth show, leading strike and locking up the building. Occasionally, they may fill a show specific show role such as Video Switcher or Front of House Operator. Additionally, they will come in for non-show shifts to assist with admin paperwork that is relevant to their client’s events. They will also take the lead in equipment and building organization, and assist with maintenance and upkeep projects.
