Job DetailsJob Location: Whatcom Family YMCA - Bellingham, WA 98225Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $19.70 - $20.70 HourlyPOSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Lifeguard at Whatcom Family Y creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck and surrounding areas in accordance with Y policies and procedures. During the summer months, this position will also teach group swim lessons and guard at offsite locations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To prevent accidents by enforcing pool rules and by communication to members and guests. To remain alert at all times. To be on time for assigned shifts and be responsible for covering your shifts if you need time off. These shift changes have to be approved and must be covered by YMCA staff.
