GI Technician - Operating Room - Rotating

Schedule Full-Time: 72 Hours/Biweekly: Hours: Mon-Fri Day Shift 7:00 am-3:30 pm primarily with occasional later starts as late as 9:00 am. General Summary: Performs duties that include, but are not limited to, procedure room setup, pre-procedure inspection/testing of all equipment used during a host of GI procedures (e.g., colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EUS, etc.), room cleaning, room stocking, and room preparation for the next patient. Assists the physician and/or nursing staff by providing direct and indirect patient care during the procedure. Maintains and demonstrates clinical competency. Essential Functions: - Ensures that required endoscopic equipment and supplies are set up, inspected, and tested prior to procedure. - Trouble-shoots all equipment and enters appropriate work orders as needed. - Assists the physician and/or nursing staff with the collection and labeling of tissue biopsy samples. - Competently uses electrocautery and hemostatic devices, to include clip deployment. - Under direct supervision of the physician, assists with submucosal injection of medications, lifting agents, or marking agents.
