Analytical Lab Assistant

Job description

Overview The Analytical Lab Assistant is responsible for providing support to scientists with lab tests and research. The incumbent receives, stores and distributes supplies, assists with pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical test processes, and other related tasks. Responsibilities: - Orders, receives, stores and distributes supplies - Keeps work areas stocked and cleaned - Reviews inventory for expiration dates, and works to prevent inventory shortages of stock that is used on a regular basis - Cleans and prepares lab tools for future use - Organizes and archives documents - Assists with pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical test processes - Extracts lab products such as chemicals and fluids from bulk storage, and distributes smaller portions for daily lab use - Assists in preparing chemical solutions according to methods, performs daily balance calibrations on equipment, conducts daily checks of temperature and humidity and records results - Participates in a variety of training, including GMP procedures, as well as have the ability to learn/perform analytical tests/methods as needed - Works on routine assignments per written procedures.
