Job description

At NorthBay Health the Ultrasonographer coordinates daily patient schedule with support staff. Performs ultrasound exams and ensures correct processing of images. Ensures proper equipment maintenance and cleanliness. Assists support staff when available. Maintains ARDMS registry through seminars and in-services. Promotes a cooperative and positive relationship and work environment with fellow technologists, support staff, radiologists and referring physicians/staff. Education: Graduate from approved ultrasound course. Licensure: Must be registered through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). AHA or equivalent BLS certification. Experience: Minimum two years of experience as an ARDMS registered sonographer. Skills : Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patient in the following age groups: Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal. - Performs ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols. - Reviews ultrasound requisitions for completeness and validity of examinations being requested. - Assists and instructs patients prior to and during examinations. - Responsible for eval...
