The internship Sustainability and innovation are key values at The Kingfish Company. These principles form the base from which the company makes decisions about system designs, activities and technology. In the coming years, production at our site in Zeeland will expand significantly. Seafood production inevitably is accompanied by the discharge of waste water and nutrients into the environment. The discharge of nutrients, especially of nitrogen and phosphorus, can cause eutrophication of surface water. In order to prevent this, we are implementing new innovations in order to produce our Dutch Yellowtail sustainably on a large scale. We are currently building a full-scale waste water treatment plant. Together with several engineering companies that are specialised in waste water treatment, we made a selection of technologies that will be used at our farm. However several questions on configuration and operation of the wastewater treatment plant have yet to be answered. During your internship, you will help us get those answers by collecting data.
