Job description

To develop and implement speech pathology services and direct patient care in coordination with the rehabilitation team and in compliance with organizational goals and appropriate regulatory agencies. Under the supervision of the Manager of Speech Pathology, provides speech pathology services for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses. Major duties include patient evaluation, problem resolution, patient care documentation, attendance at patient care related meetings, delegation of duties to support personnel, participation as a member of a team, and maintenance of an appropriate level of productivity. Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills. Precepts students, Clinical Fellows and/or new staff. Essential Duties: - Serves as a clinical resource person and assigns and supervises the work of the new staff, including completion of competency validation tool. - Upon referral of a patient to the department, the pathologist initiates care per policy and provides and/or manages all aspects of speech pathology intervention. - Consistently completes all required documentation as per departmental policy. - Participates in clinics, rounds, and pa...
