Summary Leads research, design, and development activities to improve NYPA’s energy services. Designs, constructs, and tests and operates equipment. Ensures that standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, timeliness and performance are met throughout all engineering activities. Utilizing advanced computer modeling tools, perform short term operational planning and long term transmission system planning through modeling and simulation of the power system to ensure the reliable operation of the existing G&T system, evaluate G&T development opportunities, and support internal and external interconnections. Responsibilities: - Understand the operational characteristics of the NYISO Bulk Electric system and provide training to team members. - Excellent understanding of the Load Flow Contingency Analysis, Transfer Limit, and Security-Constrained Dispatch (SCD) analysis using industry leading power system analysis tools, i.e. PSS/e, TARA - Excellent understanding of the Dynamics analysis of the PSS/e program and independently perform system stability analyses using the PTI PSS/e dynamics program, and accurately assess the results. - Independently conduct analyses of system condition...
