JOB CATEGORY: PSR / SUPPORT CARE / DEVELOPMENTAL CARE / COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE: POSITION SUMMARY: This position works in a variety of settings to provide individual training including the major components of basic living skills development, psychosocial skills training and therapeutic socialization. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: AND minimum of one year experience working with individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) or co-occurring (SMI and Substance Abuse) disorders. - Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Rehabilitation, Education, Special Education or a related field; OR Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field, plus two years’ experience in providing services in the functional area taught (e.g., psychosocial education, basic living skills, etc.); OR High school diploma or GED and four years’ experience providing services in the functional area being taught; OR Qualification as a Certified Peer Specialist: - 18 Years of age or older. - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. - Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of mental health and/or substance abuse services. - Must have demonstrated mental...
