School of Communication and Arts Full-time, fixed term position for up to 22 months from January 2027 – November 2028 (starting dates negotiable) Base salary will be in the range $83,698 - $111,431 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A) Based at our St Lucia campus About This Opportunity: Join an exciting and intellectually vibrant research environment at one of Australia’s leading Universities, as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow contributing to the ARC-funded project: ‘ The Cultural History of Fatigue’, based in the School of Communication and Arts. This project investigates how the historical and cultural construction of workplace fatigue shapes the design and implementation of fatigue management technologies in an age of AI. Through historical research, stakeholder consultation, and focus-group studies, it will analyse and evaluate the impact of automated fatigue management technologies on diverse users. Expected outcomes include better understanding of end user experiences, recommendations for more equitable fatigue management, and co-developed models for product design that mitigate the risk of automated discrimination.
