POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Practical Nurse, under the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Department of Nursing, functions as a member of the nursing team to provide preventative, educational and/or supportive care, as defined within their scope of practice. Basic knowledge, decision making and communication techniques are employed in assessing, planning and implementing nursing care and lactation support services. QUALIFICATIONS: -Registered Practical Nursing Diploma -Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) -Current certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) -Perinatal Certificate from a recognized college program -Minimum of current 2 years working in a Women's & Infants' program -Healthcare provider CPR -Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, maintaining good interpersonal relationships. -Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. -Ability to set own workload priorities. -Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team. -Excellent problem-solving and organization skills. -Experience with computers, data entry and patient informat...
