Job Summary: Under general supervision, independently perform a full range of standard dispatch duties on rotating shifts. The incumbent will receive information, complaints, requests and signals from a variety of communication equipment. The incumbent will accurately evaluate information and situations, determine a proper course of action, and disseminate information to appropriate personnel. The incumbent will handle police, parking, and other types of radio traffic, maintain all information in a computer-aided dispatch system (CAD), and perform other classification related duties as assigned. Responsibilities: Ability to use applicable computerized and automated dispatch and law enforcement systems to operate and monitor radio and communication equipment in accordance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, and to dispatch units to emergency and non-emergency calls. Regular use of judgment and discretion is necessary to set priorities for service calls.
