Manufacturing Engineer

Job description

Position Purpose: Design and develop tooling, and processes to support new product development, product improvements, and capacity expansions. Act as project team member representing Manufacturing Engineering department. Essential Functions: - Design and fabricate various tooling to support production to meet Safety, Quality and Productivity goals. - Generate concepts and details of gauging, fixtures, and tooling. Tolerance drawings per Hendrickson practices. Inspect drawings for proper form, fit, function and dimensioning. - Support production daily by helping solve problems in a timely manner. - Support all various function in the Vehicle Technology Group (Safety, Quality, Production, Materials) with facility layouts, training, equipment recommendation, CERs, design and implementation of improvements generated by the plant and the management team. - Work closely with automation integrators for new or current equipment implementation and improvements. - Design and implement various material handling systems to increase space utilization, reduce redundancy, and improve workstation safety, increase productivity. - When necessary, evaluate existing tooling and fixturing to determine...
