Position: Staff Dentist, Dental Hygiene Department: Academic Affairs: Exemption Status: Exempt: Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM beginning fall 2026 Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No: Starting Salary Range: $71.80 per hour Position Summary: The Staff Dentist is a integral member of the Dental Hygiene Program who works in collaboration with the supervising dental hygiene faculty in treating patients scheduled for care in the JCCC dental hygiene on-site clinical facility. This current position is for Mondays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm that will begin in the fall 2026 semester. The Staff Dentist will supervise, mentor and assist students in evaluations for health records, restorative charting, caries risk, occlusion and radiographic surveys. Specifically, the dentist’s role includes: - Performing an initial and periodic examination on patients presenting for periodontal maintenance - Providing a dental diagnosis for each patient - Making referrals for care beyond dental hygiene needs - Consulting on complex medical histories - Preparing prescriptions as needed - Reviewing radiographs with students and discussing the patient’s caries risk assessment and dental ne...
