Job description

We are open to the role being based in Melbourne or Sydney. Overview of our role: The Legal Counsel – Markets role provides trusted, commercially focused legal support to our Group businesses, including Jemena and Zinfra. Working as a close business partner, this role supports Zinfra’s construction and maintenance operations , and the Gas Mrkets transmission pipeline business enabling confident decision‑making and positive outcomes. You will partner with stakeholders to deliver practical legal solutions, identifying and managing legal risk, advising on corporate and commercial matters, and supporting regulatory, compliance, operational and strategic initiatives. The role also involves legal project management, managing disputes and litigation, working with external counsel, and contributing to policies, procedures and continuous improvement across legal services. This position sits within a collaborative in‑house legal team and is designed to operate independently, while recognising when to inform and seek support from Lead Counsel, colleagues or external advisers.
