Job description

Classification Title: Health Educator Classification Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Description: A Parent Educator implements the Parents as Teachers (PAT) model, emphasizing parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting and family well-being in their work with families. Utilizing the PAT Foundational Curriculum in culturally sensitive ways, the parent educator partners, facilitates and reflects with families. The Parent Educator is responsible for delivering all components of the PAT model using the PAT curriculum, implementing the Essential Requirements and Quality Assurance Guidelines with fidelity, and collecting all data required by the Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visitation (MIECHV) Initiative and Parents as Teachers. The position is responsible for identifying and assessing potential clients for program eligibility.
