Job Title Yard Driver Job Overview: The Yard Driver is primarily responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the company needs. The Yard Driver will also be responsible for completing local deliveries as needed. Other responsibilities include: - Operate Yard Truck to maneuver and park large, oversized loads. - Responsible for accounting for records involving container numbers. - Must function and interact daily with distribution center personnel and comply with safety requirements. - Communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with dispatch, operations, and personnel. - Move trailers in and out of bays, inspect new deliveries and provide support where needed. - Maintain a safe work environment and practice safe work habits per company policies. - Wear and proper use of personal protective equipment. - Maintain compliance with ELD, vehicle condition reports, and all other aspects of DOT compliance. Keep updated on current DOT rules and regulations. - Other duties as assigned.
