Practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system is required to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients receiving respiratory care. The S.T. will function under the clinical supervision and guidance of the Manager or Charge Therapist. The Respiratory Care Staff Technician must demonstrate beginning and intermediate knowledge of clinical application and theoretical respiratory principles consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the respiratory care profession.
