Laboratory Aide - Core Laboratory Night Shift (Sun-Thurs 11pm-7:30am, rotating holidays) Position Summary At Stony Brook Medicine the Laboratory Aides assist technicians and pathologists in a hospital clinical laboratory, a medical research laboratory or in a morgue by performing a variety of semi-skilled routine tasks and/or clerical duties under direction to assist medical staff in making or confirming diagnosis to assist research staff in their work. Duties of a Laboratory Aide may include the following but are not limited to: Learn the computer to obtain pertinent data and to report test results and generate orders, etc. Qualifications Required : No minimum education or experience requirements. Preferred : High School Diploma, BS/BA/AA or some college credits. Medical Terminology and prior hospital/lab experience preferred.
