Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Position Summary: - Provides welcoming and a resourceful presence as a first contact for patients, families, friends and visitors. Delivers patient care and provides support for unit activities under the clinical direction of a Registered Nurse. Provides specimen collection and processing services. Schedules patient appointments and helps coordinate outside appointments for care continuation What the Surgical Optimization Nurse Assistant will do: - Observes patient’s condition and progress (or lack of progress) toward defined outcomes, in collaboration with the RN; and documents observations. - Delivers patient care based on standards of care, standards of practice, and policies and procedures in collaboration with the RN. - Supports unit activities by transporting patients, maintaining physical work environment in orderly manner as directed; answering patient call lights and responding to patient requests; transporting specimens, blood, non-narcotic pharmaceuticals, supplies, and medical records as needed. - Performs venipuncture collections on patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric.
