Applicants must have successfully completed the Starguard Training, In-Water Skills test, and Written Exam on lifeguard skills and safety. The following certifications must be obtained within one (1) month of hire and must be maintained throughout employment in this position: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification First Aid Certification ABOUT THIS JOB: Position Specific Summary: The Lifeguard position at the City of Tucson’s Parks and Recreation department keeps swimmers safe by watching the pool, preventing accidents and enforcing safety rules. They are trained to respond to emergencies, perform rescues, and provide first aid while maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment for enjoyable swimming. This position reports to a Pools Supervisor. This position does not supervise.
