Description The Department of Comparative Literature at Tulane University invites applications for a tenure-line position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek a comparatist specializing in German literature, film, thought, and culture of the long 20th century. Additional areas of interest include (but are not limited to) transnational and diasporic movements, gender and sexuality studies, 19th-21st-century philosophy and literary, critical, and political theory. The start date for the position is July 1, 2026. This recruitment is part of an expansion phase for both the Department and the German Program, as we look to broaden our academic offerings and research capabilities. The Tulane University School of Liberal Arts has also recently established a Global Humanities Program with opportunities for post-doctoral fellows and faculty.
