Description: POSITION OVERVIEW To direct and coordinate the safe, environmentally compliant, productive, and cost-effective drilling and blasting operations of the Mission Mine. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work safely at all times and supervise all crew members in a way that supports ASARCO’s Total Safety Culture program, aligns with all health and safety rules and procedures, emphasizes risk management, and ensures that everyone returns home safely at the end of the day. Supervise and direct the activities of the mine operations drillers and the blasting/powder crew in their daily activities. Line out the drillers based on priorities supplied by Technical Services according to available resources and mining needs, ensuring high use of availability of priority drills. Track and manage explosives inventory daily and check records against physical inventory. Maintain explosives supply in accordance with blasting needs while maintaining cost controls. Monitor supply of stem rock. Track consumables on drills, including bits and steel, in order to analyze performance and make recommendations of changes to improve production or lower costs.
