Job description

PRIMARY SUMMARY: Operates machines with computer controls that use single or multiple spindle lathe type screw machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms to machine metal bar stock and completes tool changes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Remove and replace dull cutting tools. - Mount, install, align and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments. - Operates machines to produce production at expected levels. - Understands tool geometry and tool path. - Reads and understands the basic layout of CNC programs. - Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures. - Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems. - Stop machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling, setup or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences. - Shadow and assist onboarding team members. - Reads blueprint or job order for product specification such a...
