TITLE: Upward Bound Program Peer Tutor DEPARTMENT: Upward Bound: REPORTS TO: Director, Upward Bound: CLASSIFICATION: Student: EFFECTIVE DATE: TBD: STANDARD WORK HOURS: Up to 20 hours per week EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time: EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non- Exempt: JOB SUMMARY: The Upward Bound (UB) Program provides fundamental support to participants preparing for college entrance. The program offers opportunities for students to improve their pre-college performance and succeed in higher education. Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families, students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree, and low-income, first-generation military veterans preparing for postsecondary education. The program’s goal is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Serve as a liaison between staff and participants. - Monitor the academic progress, attendance, and participation of Upward Bound students during the six-week summer program. - Participate in program activities alongside Upward Bound students. - Conduct individual and grou...
