CNA/PCA - Med Surg - Part Time - Days

Job description

Gloucester, Virginia 12 hour shifts and working every other weekend. Day shift is 7a - 7:30p *Please note you must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible: hold a CNA / hold an EMT-B license / completed an MA program / Currently enrolled in a Nursing Program with at least 80+ hours of clinical completed. Overview: Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager/Director in personal care of the patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified functions in tasks where there is validated competency including: simple wound care (i.e. cleaning of abrasions/laceration), EKGs, peripheral INT removal, basic phlebotomy, and extremity splinting. In addition, this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served in assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure.
