The Abandoned Mines Specialist position will be responsible for directing the search and cataloguing of abandoned/inactive mines in the state. Locating and inventorying abandoned mines is vital since it may pose significant physical safety hazards to the public, and may impact water resources, and wildlife. The Abandoned Mines Specialist primary concern will be to locate, survey, evaluate and determine the method of closure for the abandoned/inactive mines.
