Compliance Specialist

Job description

The Compliance Specialist works to ensure that CHA adheres to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations that impact internal and external obligations. This position will focus on maintaining compliance with guidelines for affordable housing programs, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Section 8, HOME, Public Housing, RAD PBV assisted housing programs. The specialist will monitor housing operations, review tenant and program files, and ensure all necessary reports and documentation are accurate, and that they inform decisions around compliance initiatives, broad scale. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Proactively work with CHA Property Office to identify actual or potential compliance issues at existing CHA properties. - Stay updated on changes in regulations and guidelines affecting affordable housing and ensure that policies reflect those changes. - Conduct internal inspections and audits of affordable housing properties to assess compliance with safety, quality, and program standards. - Maintain thorough and organized records of compliance activities, audits, inspections, and any issues or corrective actions taken. - Serve as a resource for staff questions re...
