BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY: Performs installation, cleaning, inspection, repair and replacement of Airframe and Powerplant systems components and accessories. All work is performed in accordance with applicable government, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, company directives and other approved data. Perform corrosion removal, cleaning and treatment of aircraft structures, engines and installed equipment. . May be required to use hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties. Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention. A good working knowledge of assigned aircraft maintenance and parts manual. Familiarization with COMNAVAIRFORINSTOPNAV 4790.2 Series where applicable and other applicable Navy Instructions, Manufacturer Manuals and Company Instructions. Knowledge of aircraft materials used and safety precautions as applicable to usage. Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provide guidance to Mechanic I within the work center or special work group by sharing technical knowledge to enhance accomplishment of assigned tasks.
