Inpatient PA role functions as a Responding Clinician, similar to a Hospitalist managing the co-morbidities of patients who have had Ortho surgery in our 9 sub-specialties. -Average inpatient primary census: 45-60 patients with average PA assignment 8-10 patients/day Shift: 3 days, 13 hours; day shift including weekends (approx. 7/year) possible night rotation (minimal) Responding Clinicians are responsible for all aspects of patient care for the patients on their daily assignment, which include: -Admitting patients from the ED, clinic, or front door (completes admission note and orders) -Acute postoperative care and symptom management -Care of the non-operative pati...
