Title: Seasonal Employee Hourly Department Org: Environmental Sciences - 101250 Employee Classification: H6 - Intermittent - Seasonal Hourly Bargaining Unit: Bargaining Unit Exempt: Primary Location: MC AC: Shift: 1: Start Time: End Time: Posted Salary: $24.00/hour Job Description: The Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Toledo, OH seeks a field technician who will support field measurements, sampling and data analysis for on-going research at the Plum Island Ecosystems Long-Term Ecological Research site. The field technician will work closely with staff and graduate students in the field and laboratory, conducting flux measurements and taking porewater and soil gas samples, and conducting vegetation analysis. In addition, the technician will be responsible for data entry and initial data analysis. Coastal marshes are ideal systems to study the interaction of hydrology and (carbon) biogeochemistry. This project will contribute to advance mechanistic understanding of highly dynamic, coupled hydrology and biogeochemistry (plant and microbial processes) driving coastal marsh ecosystem function.
