This Patient Care Technician (also known as a Patient Care Assistant) role is designed exclusively for students currently pursuing a pre‑healthcare track (e.g., pre‑nursing program, pre‑PA program, pre‑med program, pre‑PT program, etc.). This is a supplemental/PRN position with a requirement of 24 hours every 6 weeks, offering flexible experience for students looking to gain direct patient-care exposure. Candidates must be available Monday–Friday after 3:00 PM and/or any time on weekends and must be willing to rotate between Methodist Hospital and University Hospital as part of the staffing model. As a bedside caregiver, IU Health is seeking a Patient Care who will provide a top-notch patient experience by anticipating the needs of patients such as providing drinks, assisting with meal ordering, encouraging walking, assisting with baths, and providing clean linens and gowns. Our PCA's have compassion for our patients, a caring bedside manner, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
