Machinist (CNC) Location: Baltimore, MD Job Type: Contract to Hire Pay rate: Starting at $28/hour (higher based on experience) We are hiring a skilled Machinist for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a well-established fabrication and machine shop. This role offers hands-on work with CNC milling, turning, and precision component manufacturing in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Perform complete setups for multi-axis CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines - Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and machining instructions - Machine precision components to tight tolerances (± .002") - Inspect finished parts using standard measuring tools and procedures - Maintain production schedules with minimal supervision - Edit and create CNC programs to support production - Develop and improve fixturing and setups for repeat production - Troubleshoot machining and setup issues independently - Maintain a clean and safe work environment Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years of CNC programming experience - 4–5 years of fixturing and setup experience - Experience with SolidWorks CAM Pro - Strong knowledge of tooling, feeds/speeds, and machining practices - Experience work...
