Job description
Position Function: This position provides support to the research program operations including assisting in farm production operations and equipment and facilities maintenance. Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year. Salary Grade : UC: Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Department Profile: THIS JOB IS LOCATED AT THE BROWN LOAM EXPERIMENT STATION AT 1676 BROWN LOAM ROAD; RAYMOND, MS 39154. Anticipated Appointment Date: June 2025. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assists faculty and staff with demonstrations and/or projects. 2. Operates farm equipment. 3. Assists with plot/bed preparation, planting, cultivating, fertilizing, applying herbicide, harvesting of crops, and hay production. 4. Assists with farm animals. 5.
