POSITION SUMMARY: The Stationary Engineer operates and maintains equipment in the boiler, fan rooms and overall building services at theCAHS, ensuring the safe, efficient and economical operation of all equipment in accordance with the regulations of the Operating Engineers Act. QUALIFICATIONS: -Grade 12 education with an Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Third -Class Stationary Engineer. -Certificate of Qualification as a Third Class Stationary Engineer.. -1- year apprenticeship training, with demonstrated knowledge of equipment and machinery typical to environment. -Verbal and reading skill is necessary to read and understand blueprint and technical manuals pertaining to operation andmaintenance of equipment. -Knowledge of automated and computer processes i.e. building management and chemical water treatment systems. -The ability to assess mechanical malfunctions and enact solutions independently. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures the safe, efficient and economical operation of all equipment during his/her shift in accordance with the regulations of the Operating Engineers Act.
