Description Job Summary: Under the supervision of an RN, performs specific duties/ procedures in relation to the care and treatment of patients at the University Hospitals and Clinics. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Responsibilities: - Records vital signs accurately and reports any changes to the RN. Performs venipuncture when ordered. - Performs computerized EKGs according to policy and procedure and provides copies for the patient's chart and the heart station. - Informs RN of any unusual occurrences or changes in patient's condition. - Provides comfort measures to patient and family members as needed. - Orders, labels, delivers, and maintains records of lab specimens. - Keeps assigned work area clean and stocked. - Contributes to the efficient operation of the unit.
