Entry Level Histotechnologist ( Job Number: 39188 ) Description: University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department of Pathology: Entry Level Histotechnologist (Healthcare Entry Professional) Position #: 00845793 – Requisition #: 39188 Job Summary: The Department of Pathology is excited to recruit a full-time (1.0 FTE) entry-level Histotechnologist at the rank of Healthcare Entry Professional. The entry-level histotechnologist will process whole mount prostate, prostate mapping biopsies, and other types of specimens received in the Histology Subspeciality Laboratory. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to: Key Responsibilities: · Technical - 60% o Gross description and dissection of whole prostate specimens, prostate mapping biopsy specimens. o CMOCO only biopsy tissue samples. o Reprocessing of FFPI tissue samples for Electron Microscopy. o Paraffin Embedding of large format and biopsy tissue samples. o Microtomy sectioning of tissue samples. o Staining and cover slipping of tissue samples · Administrative – 20% o Manual tracking of patient tissue samples. o Maintenance of supply inventory. · Compliance and operational – 20% o Cleaning and organization of work...
