Overview The Physician Assistant collaborates with a multidisciplinary health team to deliver direct comprehensive care services and education to both well and ill patients. Under the direction of the physician, the incumbent practices within the guidelines of the department, the Institute, and in accordance with the State of Maryland physician assistant regulations. This position is granted specified professional staff privileges by the Kennedy Krieger Institute Medical Board that are reviewed annually. Responsibilities: 1. Conducts comprehensive or episodic health assessments of patients with real, potential, acute, and/or chronic health problems, which may include psychosocial, cognitive, and personal asset limitations of the patient/family.2. Performs health screenings, requests orders, and performs and interpret tests. Establishes medical and nursing diagnosis, orders and evaluates diagnosticstudies, performs and monitors therapeutic procedures, and assesses and/or manages follow-up plans.3.
