SUMMARY: Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Category Specialist – Steel that will provide development, implementing, and managing sourcing strategies for specified categories or group of categories. This role will focus on optimizing costs, quality, and delivery while improving Supply Chain efficiencies and maintaining supplier relationships. Hiring Locations: Hybrid in Minneapolis, MN (PREFERRED). Open to other locations such as Phoenix, AZ, Denver, CO, Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI, Nashville, TN, Seattle, WA, or Portland, OR. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Estimating and Procurement - Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for estimate preparation - Solicit quotes from manufacturers and trade partners - Understand project specifications and qualify manufacturer quotes - Create Proposals - Assist Design Phase with material selections based on client needs - Project Coordination - Create and Maintain procurement log - Manage Submittals and Shop Drawing process - Coordinate with project teams and other trades - Assist in implementation of Category Strategy for Assigned Categories - Identify and engage with internal stakeholders across engineering and operations to capture cate...
