The University of Southern Maine’s Osher School of Music is seeking Part-Time Adjunct Faculty applicants for the upcoming academic year. Our Fall 2026 semester begins August 31, 2026. We are searching for adjunct faculty in Musicology, Ethnomusicology, or an associated field to teach within the Osher School of Music (OSOM) Music History Curriculum. While teaching loads will vary from between semesters, responsibilities would primarily include Music History Survey I (MUH 222) and/or Music History Survey 2 (MUH 223), with potential contributions to the core graduate curriculum. Music History Survey I (MUH 222) - An historical study of the language and style of music from antiquity to 1850. Significant composers, major genres, and representative musical compositions are studied. Music History Survey 2 (MUH 223) - An historical study of the language and style of Western art music from 1850 to the present day. Significant composers, major genres, and representative musical compositions are studied.
