Senior Backup Engineer

Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a Senior Backup Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals on our Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program. CAEIO provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting consular applications services globally. The Senior Backup Engineer will be member of the Enterprise Infrastructure Support team providing enterprise IT operations support across two datacenter locations, 30 domestic satellite offices, and more than 250 overseas locations. The environment primarily consists of Windows and Linux virtual machines running on VMware vSphere, along with bare-metal Oracle Linux database systems. Responsibilities: - Manage and maintain NetBackup and Commvault environments. - Perform remote agent installations and ongoing monitoring. - Troubleshoot daily backup job failures and manage backup retention. - Maintain and support Data Domain backup storage systems. - Support operations and maintenance (O&M) activities and project-based work, including reprioritizing tasks as needed.
