Title Grocery Department Manager Pay Grade: Non-Exempt Major Department: Grocery: Minor Department: Grocery: Reports to: General Manager: Job Summary: The Grocery Department Manager is responsible for the exceptional execution of guest service by the entire department. This individual is further responsible for setting the example for their team by regularly communicating with each individual and collectively in a group, via daily team huddles. S/he is responsible for managing the department schedules, inventory, margin, labor budgets, pricing integrity, and merchandising standards. S/he will ensure all employees receive proper training and supervision. S/he will ensure that employees are performing the highest level of execution in regards to ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, rotation, merchandising and building of displays. S/he must be familiar with store products and their locations in order to assist customers in locating items. The Grocery DM is also responsible for regular communication with their General Manager, Grocery Buyer and Audit/Lead in order to assure proper understanding of the department function in terms of product and people.
