The Sunita Jain Anti Trafficking Policy Initiative (SJI), based at Loyola Law School (LLS), advances policy grounded in survivor experience, rigorous research, and a commitment to anti racism, equity, and inclusion. Building on LLS’s long history of system transformation and best practice representation of trafficking survivors, SJI develops innovative policy solutions that address the root causes of human trafficking, including the systemic subordination of poor communities of color and the intersecting impacts of gender, gender identity, sexuality, disability, national origin, religion, and immigration status.As the first initiative of its kind housed within a law school dedicated to social justice, SJI works to expand survivors’ access to self determination and to shape the next generation of advocates advancing meaningful anti trafficking reform at the local, state, and national levels.
