Job description

Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is offering two Laboratory Assistant positions within the Cleaning and Material Sterilisation Service for the Laboratory Coordination Unit. This unit is responsible for maintaining the common areas and laboratories at VHIR. Main responsibilities and duties: Maintain optimal daily hygiene and sterilisation conditions for all laboratory materials, including collecting, cleaning, sterilising, and distributing materials. Ensure the daily operation and maintenance of the cleaning rooms under their responsibility (autoclaves, Milli-Q and Elix systems), as well as the organisation of VHIR’s common equipment and facilities (freezers, developing machines, cold rooms, and cleaning storage areas). Prepare developing solutions, monitor the proper functioning of equipment, and coordinate the disposal of photographic waste through authorised waste management providers. Perform preventive cleaning and maintenance of common laboratory equipment (centrifuges, microwaves, cabinets, incubators, shakers, ultrasonic baths, etc.).
