Overview Within Electric Boat Supplier Quality Engineering, we pride ourselves on being flexible to everyone’s experiences and values. Applicants to this post have a chance of being a part of Electric Boat’s reinvigorated, enterprise-wide initiative of supply base utilization. The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be responsible for managing oversight of Electric Boats vendors. SQEs have a direct impact on the product quality from our supply base and the responsibility to assess vendor performance. These vendors provide material which plays a crucial role in downstream manufacturing process in our shipyards and at other vendors in our supply chain. Engineers will be required to perform various duties throughout all stages of procurement, including but not limited to: Review of Ordering Data, Supplier Capability Assessments, Supplier’s Quality Management System Reviews, Problem Resolution, Process Audits / Surveillance and Product Inspection. In addition, Engineers will evaluate material defects and quality trends to identify where Supplier root cause assessments and corrective actions are required.
