It's more than a career, it's a calling WI-SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Madison Worker Type: Regular Job Highlights: This is a full time day shift Phlebotomist position for St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. The schedule is variable days Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a total of 36 hours per week. This schedule also includes an every other weekend rotation. Job Summary: Under specific direction, collects and prepares blood specimens and other samples for laboratory testing. Maintains collection areas and equipment and performs record keeping duties. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Collects blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary technique and processes the samples according to laboratory guidelines. - Delivers samples to the laboratory in established time frames. - May perform waived testing. - May perform a variety of administrative duties to support the department. - Identifies patients using two identifiers. - Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. - Performs other duties as assigned.
