Position Summary The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) at San Diego State University is seeking an Academic Advisor to serve its undergraduate students. The Academic Advisor will support a caseload of students by providing academic advising, student support, and programming that enhances student achievement and timely graduation. Key Responsibilities: - Academic Advising : Advise current, prospective, and former students on course planning, degree progress, and university policies. - Support At-Risk Students : Counsel students experiencing academic difficulty and connect them with appropriate campus resources. - Student Engagement : Facilitate group advising sessions, orientation programs, and student success workshops. - Cross-Collaboration : Collaborate with SDSU’s Residential Education Office and Division of Student Affairs to create and facilitate academic programming in student residence halls. - Event Support : Assist with key events such as New Student and Parent Orientations and Explore SDSU informational sessions.
