Job Description The Code & Zoning Specialist is responsible for interpretations regarding code and zoning issues. - Regularly consult with principals, including owners, design professionals and contractors to anticipate and resolve potential zoning, code, or other regulatory issues in order to minimize impact on the critical path of project schedules. - Evaluate and track construction activities in New Building (NB) applications or major alteration (ALT. l) applications for complex, high profile developments throughout the city. This includes: performing comprehensive plan examination reviews with citywide borough offices to resolve complicated code and zoning issues and facilitate approvals; performing on-site inspections and assessments during every major construction milestone and during other complex activities, including demolition or excavation. - Review and address determinations submitted by applicants, builders, and the general public. - Serve as expert consultant in emergencies involving possible structural damage to buildings. - Document meeting proceedings and decisions. - Identify operational issues and provide recommendations for improving the day-to-day plan examinat...
