How you make a difference The Dental Hygienist provides dental care and promotes dental health by performing a variety of tasks under the supervision of a licensed dentist. They assess patient needs, clean teeth, take and develop dental x-rays, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene. They adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and protocols related to dental hygiene and maintain accurate patient records. Qualifications & Requirements: Education: - Graduate from an accredited Dental Hygienist school Experience: - Two (2) years’ experience - Previous correctional/detention facility experience - Five (5) years’ experience Licenses/Certifications: - Unrestricted current Dental Hygiene license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc. - Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA - Current (and must maintain) lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA Key Responsibilities: - Prepare treatment room and select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits. - Provide oral hygiene and postoperative instructions to patients and answer their questions. - Maintain and ste...
